Cruel experience, I have got some
I don't want to be a grown-up! I will not able to hear my flowers saying thank you to me. Trees will not care of me anymore. Everything is measured by the value of money.
I thought of Daisy all of a sudden while having My Friday Party.
Daisy has been behaving abnormally, I worry about her a lot. I give her a call, invited her to come to my home on Saturday night.
On Saturday night, I talked with her peacefully. She seemed to be normal.
"Are you doing well today, Daisy?"
"You seem to have been unhappy, right?" I said gently.
Daisy stared at me for a while, she then looked up into the sky and said "We both are 14......"
I nodded slightly.
"We are turning to be loveless creatures soon!" Daisy looked at me again, she saw my silly face but she didn't laugh. Instead, she continue to speak, "We are going to lose a lot of senses, we'll not be able to sense of the nature anymore, sense of another person's pains, sense of happiness......" She mused again. "I'll not be able to hear my flowers say,
'I'm very lucky to have you watering me everyday. You see, I'm so healthy. Thank you, my lovely Daisy.' " said Daisy after few seconds.
"Trees will not say, 'Today is hot, let me give you some cool winds and fresh air, come take a rest under me.'
Birds will not sing for me, because I will feel annoying with their sounds.
Dogs will not talk to me, they will scare of me......"
Daisy was weeping, "What will I be able to do?
Working for money, taking a rest then working again. Earning money for living, the meaning of living is no more than living. Besides money, I will become no feeling to anything.
If I will be unable to make money, no anyone would respect me. In the adult world, everything is measured by the value of money."
"Do you think love and kindness don't exist?" said I.
"People would treat you well if you are a tycoon or celebrity, or you have a power. People would only admire fame, wealth and power!"
"Daisy, you will get married with someone you love, your future husband will not treat you in this cruel way."
"He may say, 'Hey, you are relying on me, without me, you will live on the street! So, don't make me angry, even I'm an unreasonable guy!'
He will say that, even I sacrifice my career prospect for looking after children at home, helping them with their homework, they will have a successful future. My children will not respect me, they will merely think I have nothing to do, so, I stay at home.
I don't want to be a grown-up"
Daisy was crying. I held her in my arm, her head rested on my shoulder.
Cruel experience, I have got some.

Friday Night Party
Quora.com is interesting, you can ask questions there. Unbelievable! Who made this social network? Every time I ask a question, grown-ups say shut-up. Grown-ups dislike to be asked, but they like asking questions. It's a funny behaviour. Did the founder of Quora.com encounter the same problem?
Last Friday after school, I bought 2 packs of chip and a bottle of coke for my Friday night party. Friday nights are my happy time. Weekdays are annoying, I need to have time to release my real character, do something to please myself.
The Friday night party started at 10:30pm as usual. I turned on the radio, put the snack and drink on a side table at my room. I also adjusted the light to dim. No anyone was allowed to disturb me, even my parents! I enjoyed to stay alone in my own world. Is one-man party boring? It's also boring with people.
I was surfing on the web with my smartphone while eating and drinking. How enjoyable it was!
My friend told me that the social media Quora.com is interesting, you can ask questions there. Unbelievable! Who made this social network? Every time I ask a question, grown-ups say shut-up. Grown-ups dislike to be asked, but they like asking questions. It's a funny behaviour. Who would answer them? Do they expect children to answer? But grown-ups distrust any children surely. I guess the founder of Quora.com, who also encountered the same problem, no anyone answers his question so that he developed a website for asking questions.
The users of Quora.com really ask many questions. I found many questions which have no answers. Users like to raise up a question, then, they answer the questions that they raised up. So, what's the point to ask a question?
I started to understand why grown-ups dislike answering questions, they expect a questioner who has an answer. If a questioner has an answer, or, he is able to find out a solution, he doesn't need to ask! Maybe, grown-ups only can find out an answer themselves after asked a question to someone else. Grown-ups are weird.
Actually, grown-ups dislike solving problems, they don't even solve their own problems. Thus, you can't expect grown-ups would solve your problems.
Ai Means Artificial Island in Hong Kong. No Intelligence.
HK$500 billion (A$90 billion) on building an Ai (artificial island) to ease overcrowding!
Investing a huge amount of money in research and development for Artificial Intelligent(Ai) is a very common news. The senior officials In Hong Kong are not intelligent, thus, the chief executive proposed to spend HK$500 billion (A$90 billion) on building an Ai - artificial island to ease overcrowding! The chief executive must be going crazy.
Everyday, 150 new immigrants are allowed to come to Hong Kong from mainland China. The new immigrants will get married and they will have children. This immigration policy causes an exponential population growth . It's over Hong Kong's capacity obviously. The chief executive doesn't dare to cease this immigration policy, but she chooses to build an artificial island instead.
How many artificial islands does the government need to build for long term to due with the exponential population growth?
The totally cost must exceed the budget significantly. It will be about HK$1000 billion estimated according to HK news reports. HK$1000 billion is equal to the total Hong Kong government's reserve. Will the Hong Kong government raise the tax rates in the future?
What programming language should you learn? My answer would be Python. Everyone can get benefit from this easy-to-learn programming language.
As a computer programmer, what benefits can I bring to my audiences. This is a big question for me.
I developed this website, comic.owl-story.com, added a function for end users to created a funny image with speech, I thought it should be a good idea to spread out happiness.
What else can I do for my audiences? I think telling them what I know is a good idea. This means, I should write some things about programming. There are so many programming languages, which one should I do? I believe Python is a good one which can benefit everyone. Python is the most easy to learn programming language, it can be used for Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Ai and Big Data. It doesn't matter you want to be a professional computer programmer or you need to work with data and information, Python is the one that you should learn.
How to learn a computer language?
Learning a new computer language is very similar to learn a human language, let say English. Initially, you need to learn vocabulary, then grammar. After that, you can construct a sentence to express your meaning with vocabulary and grammar. Furthermore, you need to turn your idea into a story and write the story with programming language to tell the machine what you want it to do for you.
Does it sound difficult? Luckily, you can learn the Python's "vocabulary" and "sentence" quickly, because it's really easy to learn and memorise.
I will start to talk about the "vocabulary"(reserved words) and "sentence" (construct lines of code) in my next blog entry. I hope I will see you soon.
There will be no Privacy
Your every moment is being recorded. There are so many uncertainties generated by rapidly developing technology. The word "Privacy" may soon be deleted from the dictionary.
Who understands you most deepest?
Your parents, lovers......? No...no...!
The technology giants!
Your every moment is being recorded by technology companies.
You use your smartphone to set alarm clock, surfacing on the internet, go to work, every moment is recorded by your smartphone. What will happen if the information is sent to, for example, Google or Apple's servers.
Furthermore, when you use a kind of e-payment method to buy something, the transaction and location are recorded.
All the information are identifiable. This means, technology companies know a person, let say Peter, his age is 28, he likes drinking soda, his favourite TV drama is Doctor Who, he usually goes to work at 7:15am, he takes the bus at......Peter also uses Facebook to post something he likes. A full profile of Peter can be drawn easily. What if the technology giants would exchange the raw data to one another? Peter's full picture can be drawn in detail.
The 5G technology is expected to roll out by year 2019 or 2020. The data can be transmitted in high speed. Ai, Machine Learning and Big Data will be widely used. Will the near future become more comfortable and liveable? Or, everyone will be monitored like a slave? Or, people will become slaves but they will not be aware, because the information they obtain from the technology giants will change their mindsets. Does the technology bring us a better world or merely benefits few people on the top of others?
There are so many uncertainties generated by the rapidly developing technology. The word "Privacy" may soon be deleted from the dictionary.
One thing I am sure, that's when you are in need, no one will come out to help you!
Google is called to abandon the China search project
White House calls Google to abandon China search project Dragonfly. Why? What's the reason?
It's strange to me, White House calls Google to abandon China search project Dragonfly.
This isn't a normal practice for a government to influence a company over its decision making in a free market.
What's the reason of White House to do so?
The Vice President Mike Pence said the move would “strengthen Communist Party censorship and compromise the privacy of Chinese customers.”
What is the Dragonfly?
This is an app-based search engine which would remove items which contain certain words or phrases, this function would be applied to image search as well. It would also blacklist sensitive queries. The app will identify topics and websites which are blocked by China's Great Firewall. The BBC and Wikipedia, for example, will be expected to not show in the search result.
Google announced to leave China 8 years ago. It's now planning to go back.
As an end user of Google, I am disappointed to it. I am feeling that Google is now more likely a profit-oriented company, not the same as before.

Amazon Go Brings You A Brand New Shopping Experience
You will not have any pain of paying with its brand new technology.Companies earn our money more convenient than ever and our money moving out from our wallets towards them fast.
The new technology always brings us "convenience and moving fast".
Business people earn our money more convenient than ever and our money moving out from our wallets towards them fast. It's because the new technology reduces our pain, pain of paying.
Few decades ago. we used cash for shopping. We felt pain while paying in cash, although we paid for what we liked. I sometimes felt regretted to spend too money after my cash was in the cashier's hand.
Nowadays, we generally use credit card, Apple Pay, Android Pay or other kinds of e-payment methods for buying. We don't feel pain of paying anymore. The "Do" sound tells us the transaction is approved and completed. I don't feel very painful, just have a bitter feeling when I see "-$300", but I would have much stronger feeling when I see 3 one hundred banknotes in another person's hand.
Amazon is a technology giant, it offers you a brand new technology to have totally painless buying experience at its grocery stores. What you need to do is to open its app on your phone, let the gate to scan the app, then grab what you want to buy and just go away. Thus, Amazon store is called Amazon Go! Amazon bills your credit card as you pass through the turnstile on your way out.
What can I do if Amazon's system overcharges me?
What happens if I picked up a product, then I passed it to my friend? Would the system charge me money rather than my friend?
When a store is crowded, would the system get confused and charge a wrong customer's money?
This brand new technology seems to bring me a lot of questions and concerns. I prefer to have pain of paying and I can save more money. No...no...you will have no any pain of paying, but you may have a trouble to make the repayment of your credit card.
Windows 10 update may delete your personal files permanently
Back up all your personal files before updating Windows 10 with the latest version!
Back up all your personal files before updating Windows 10 with the latest version!
After you have updated Windows 10 with the latest version 1809 rolled out in October 2018, you may find your hard disk freed up more space, but your personal files were deleted permanently.
According to CNET reports, users have posted this issued on social networks, alleged their personal files were deleted from their drives. The deleted files were unretrievable even with recovery software.
Microsoft is doing an investigation on this issue.
A better way to deal with this problem is to backup all your files prior do the update, or, you should ignore this update before Microsoft fixed the issue.

Supermarkets and convenience stores in Hong Kong never offer you discounts
Buy more to have a greater discount? No way! They charge you much more if you buy less!
This brand of potato chips was my favourite when I was a child. I didn't eat it for few decades.
I saw it at a convenience store tonight, I couldn't control myself to buy one.
The price tag showed the price was HK$9.00 each, HK$13.00 for 2. I felt bored with this sort of pricing. Everyone knows HK$9.00 is too expensive, it's not a reasonable price. If you want to have a reasonable price, you need to buy 2.
Of course, some people would argue with me that how can you define HK$9.00 which isn't a reasonable price? Right, I can't!
I just did the simple calculation, 2 packs for HK$13.00, 1 pack for HK$9, 13-9=4. Suppose the first one worth HK$9.00, the second one worth HK$4.00 only. The difference is too large. The HK$4.00 seems to be the cost of it, the profit is HK$5.00.
On the other hand, I tried to divide HK$13.00 by 2 =HK$6.5 each, HK$9.00- HK$6.5=HK$2.50. I think I can say that 1 pack for HK$9.00 that covers the profit of 2 packs. Also, HK$6.50 - HK$2.50=HK$4.00. That HK$4.00 should be the cost of each pack of the chip.
Are you now feeling dizzy?
I make it simple:
$4.00 =cost for 1 pack
$2.50=profit for 1 pack
Buy 1 only
(4.00+2.5) x 2=13.00
Thus, HK$9.00 covers the profit of 2 packs.
It seems to give you a big discount if you buy more. Indeed, the store charges you much more if you buy less. There is no any discounts offered to consumers.
This sort of pricing strategy is very common in Hong Kong to confuse consumers. I can see it at all supermarkets and convenience stores.
Living in Hong Kong is no choice! So, we must spend much more proportion of our household expenditure on food than Britons(How can the UK make the food inexpensive?).
How can the UK make the food inexpensive?
Britons only spend an average of 8% of their total household expenditure on food, it's a low proportion comparing with other countries, such as US, Singapore and Japan...
Britons only spend an average of 8% of their total household expenditure on food, it's a low proportion comparing with other countries, such as US, Singapore and Japan. Japan spend about 13% in 2016, but 25.8% 2017.
How can they do that?
The economy of UK isn't doing well, the inflation rises and wages don't increase much. Thus, Britons are concerned the cost of food seriously. They are lucky to have a choice. There are 2 discount stores Aldi and Lidl have grown rapidly in recent years. They now have 13% market share in the UK's grocery market. Britons can shop for their food with better price. It makes other supermarkets have difficulty raising their prices.
Another reason is that they adopt technology to mechanise the process of food production, from farming to distribution, in a more cost effective way.
The UK has also do the global sourcing of food to keep their food price at a low level. "It currently imports about half of all its food, up from a third in 1988." reported BBC. "Retailers are able to source foods cheaply from around the world, without incurring the UK's often higher manufacturing and processing costs."
The UK imports half of their food, this means, other countries can affect the cost of food in the UK, as well as its economy easily. I don't think it's a good practise. I immediately think of the trade war between the US and China. China imposes 25% tariff on importing soybean from the US. This action may cause China to have a potential shortage on soybean, or the cost of food may increase dramatically.
International trade needs a good relationship to maintain. As the UK is preparing for Brexit, it may influence the cost of food. The total food supply in the UK is 50% domestic production, 30% importing from EU. Brexit may bring the UK uncertainty of the cost of food.
However, the cost of food can be affected by the factors of weather, exchange rate(strength of the pound) and trade disputes. Britons cannot expect the low cost of food that is always available in the market.
In summary, the UK can make the cost food at low level because of the following factors:
1. Consumers have a choice to shop for food.
2. Technology contributes the food production and distribution in a more cost effective way.
3. The benefit of international trade.
The cost of food can be influenced by the following factors:
1. The weather
2. Currency exchange rate
3. Trade disputes
As my own opinion, various kinds of pollution can give a great impact on food supply as well. That's why I was furious after I knew the fashion industry generally burn a huge amount of unsold clothing(Too Much Waste Generated by Fashion Industry).
People in well-developed countries don't forget the people in the third world countries, they don't have clean water, enough food and clothing.
